Post 119 Seniors Stumble Against Central City

The St. Paul Post 119 Seniors were looking to pick up their sixth victory of the season Friday night when they hosted Central City at Grover Cleveland Alexander Field.

However, the Merrick County kids didn’t give the locals an inch to get their foot in the door.

Central City scored three runs in the top of the first inning and then notched six more in the second.

Post 119 Juniors Fall to Central City

The St. Paul Legion Post 119 Juniors fell behind early during Friday night’s battle against Central City at Grover Cleveland Alexander Field in St. Paul.

Despite only trailing by one run following the first inning of play, St. Paul struggled to generate offense and was never able to pull ahead of the visitors.

Central City blew the game open with ten runs in the fourth inning, helping the Merrick County kids to a 17-3 victory.

The LouPlatte Conference (LPC) All-Star basketball team, including St. Paul’s Jaxson Klinginsmith and Rylan Birkby, took on the best players from the Southwest Conference in last week’s New West All-Star Classic Basketball game played at Minden. The LouPlatte Conference team outscored the Southwest Conference kids in three of the game’s four quarters, leading to a 71-59 victory.
