St. Paul Head Start celebrates Week of the Young Child

St. Paul Early Head Start/Sixpence and Little Paws Preschool/Head Start celebrated the Week of the Young Child from April 6th until April 12th. The Week of the Young Child is an annual, weeklong celebration started by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) to recognize early learners and their families, teachers, and communities, and to bring awareness to the early childhood programs that meet young children and their families’ needs.

Senator Meyer reflects on session, looks to future

The sixty-day second session of the 108th Legislature came to an end last Thursday, April 18th. In an address to lawmakers last week, Governor Jim Pillen said that senators should be proud of their accomplishments but stressed that the failure of the state’s legislative branch to pass his sponsored property tax relief package, Legislative Bill (LB) 388, would lead him to reconvene the body later this year.

911 OUTAGE IMPACTS COUNTY

The Federal Communications Commission is currently investigating the cause of an outage that led to disruptions in 911 service in portions of Nebraska, South Dakota, Texas, and Nevada last Wednesday. In Howard County, the outage had left calls to 911 ringing busy for just over one hour last Wednesday night.
