Behrens earns gold at state meet

On Saturday, January 27th, St. Paul High School Senior Raeghann Behrens made her second ever trip to the Nebraska RAW High School Powerlifting State Meet at the Creighton Prep Heider Center in Omaha. There, in competition with powerlifters from across Nebraska, she took home RAW’s top prize, becoming the first and only female state champion powerlifter from St. Paul Public Schools.

After going winless in the month of January and making an early exit from the Goldenrod Conference Tournament, the Elba Bluejays girls basketball team was hungry for a victory. Last Thursday night, the Purple and Gold snapped their mid-season skid when they built a first-half lead against Harvard and used that the generate their third win of the season.
