A spring blizzard impacted central Nebraska last week, and along with cancelling classes at area high schools, the late-March spate of winter weather ended up wreaking havoc on the second week of the spring sports season.

After starting the season with four consecutive wins and outscoring their opponents 48-7, the Central City/ Centura Kernels suffered their first loss of the year, falling 13-2 to Hastings last Thursday in Cairo.
